Surya turns investor for Online movie streaming portal: Hero Talkies

Actor cum producer Surya has taken the first step for a Chennai based Hero talkies.com. It is a legal entertainment start-up, online streaming of Tamil Movies. He has raised the first investment for the official online Movie Streaming Portal through his 2D Entertainment and a group of High Net-worth Individuals (HNIs).

The other investors include Sanjay Arjundas Wadhwa (a leading movie distributor in South India), and NRI investors Balaji Panchapakesan (UK), Shankar Venkatesan (Poland), and Vasikaran Venkatesan (USA).

S Aathitiyan the founder of Hero Talkies along with his brother V. S. Pradeep has said that “I met Surya through my father last year and explained to him about my business and requested to him to endorse it as a brand ambassador. He required some time. I was in touch with his manager. A few months back, Surya evinced interest in investing with us.”

Surya’s 2D Entertainment started in 2014. It aims to make and deliver good quality movies such as the latest one Pasanga 2. The institute operations in Mumbai. It focuses on nurturing fresh ideas and creating engaging entertainment. The promoter of Hero Talkies did not want to reveal the investment details.

First Look Posters of Surya’s '24' Released

The first look posters of the Surya-starrer 24, which were released online on Tuesday, have piqued a lot of curiosity among the actor’s fans and film lovers with regards to its genre.

Going by the two posters, Surya dons extremely distinct avatars of an assassin and a scientist.

Rumoured to be based on the concept of time-travel, the film also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menen.

Jointly produced by Studio Green and 2D Entertainment, the film is directed by Vikram Kumar and is slated for a summer 2016 release.

The film has music by A.R. Rahman.

Surya and Amala Paul in Pandiraj's next!

Pandiraj has again come up with a child-drama. The trailer of Pasanga 2 depicts the story of two children, who underperform in studies, and their struggles.

Pandiraj's films are best known for their comedy, but this time the director has taken up a serious issue of children. It is said that the film deals with Attention Deficit Disorder, a psychiatric disorder among children that makes them underperform in academics.

Surya plays teacher in the child-drama and will feature only for about 40 minutes in the film. Apart from Surya the film also stars Amala Paul and three children-Kavin, Nayana and Abhiman, in pivotal roles.

The film was initially titled Haiku but to avail tax exemption it was renamed as Pasanga 2. But Pandiraj has claimed that the film is not a sequel to his National Award Winner Pasanga.

Pasanga 2 Audio Release Date!

Pandiraj’s upcoming children’s movie Pasanga 2 stars Bindu Madhavi and Karthik Kumar in the lead roles alongside some bright young adorable kids. Surya and Amala Paul would also be doing pivotal roles in the film.The musical tracks of Arrol Corelli will apparently hit the stores on the 17th of October. 

Pasanga 2 will be Surya’s 2D Entertainment’s second production venture after 36 Vayadhinile. The song tracks will be released by Sony Music.
